Charlie Dodds, President
Charlie has been coaching soccer for over 15 years. He is currently the head
coach for the FC Delco Pink Panthers U-14 boys travel team.
In 2007, the Pink Panthers were state cup semifinalist, losing in overtime to then Regional Champion Spirit United.
In 2006, the Pink Panthers were Delco League top division finalists.
In 2004, the Pink Panthers won the EPYSA Indoor State Cup championship.
Charlie has coached at the high school level for The Haverford School, West Chester East and Conestoga High School.
He was the head coach for the West Chester East High School Boys Varsity for six years.
In 2003, Charlie lead East to the Ches-Mont League championship and
a second place finish in the PIAA State Playoffs.
Charlie was voted Chester County League Coach of the Year.
Charlie has also been a head travel team coach for eleven years.
In 2002, his West Chester U-13 Girls team were State Finalists and Region One USA Semifinalists.
Charlie also coached in the Delco League Select Program and the Philadelphia Area Girls
Soccer League Select Program for many years.
Charlie is a former player at Upper Darby High School where he was an All-Central
League Selection. Charlie was also a standout for the Cabrini College team.
Biff Sturla
Biff is the President of Lower Merion Soccer Club where he has coached for the past 26 years. He has
worked at Rocket Sports for nine years.
Biff is the head coach for the Under 13 boys FC Delco Cannibals who are four
time defending Delco League top division champions.
Biff was head coach for the FC Delco Hammerheads who were Under 15 National Finalists in 2006. During
his eight years with the Hammerheads, they won five state championships and three Region One Championships.
In 2006, Biff was honored as the EPYSA Coach Of The Year and also as the NSCAA Regional Coach Of The Year.
Biff has also been a head coach at the high school level for 13 years. In 2006, his Harriton High School
team were District One Champions and state quarterfinalists. His teams have won league championships four times.
In 2002, Harriton was the recipient
of the Referee Association's Sportsmanship Award. In 2004, Harriton was voted the League's
Sportsmanship Award by the coaches and Biff was voted Del-Val League Coach Of The
Year. In 2002, Biff was voted
Main Line Life Coach of the Year and Main Line Times Coach of the Year.
In 1999, he was voted Philadelphia Inquirer Coach Of The Year and Main Line Life Coach Of The Year.
In 1997, Biff was the Central League High School Coach Of The Year.
Andy Kelly
Andy has been with Rocket Sports for ten years. He is a Physical Education professor at
Montgomery County College where he coaches
the Men’s Soccer Team. Andy was voted Eastern Collegiate Soccer League Coach of the Year in
2002 and 2004. Andy also coached for many years in the FC Delco soccer club and the FC Bucks soccer club.
In 2003, his FC Delco Celtic team
were Under 14 State Champions and Region One USA semifinalists.
In 2001, he was an assistant coach for the FC Delco Dynamo who won the Under 15 National Championship.
Andy has a Master’s
Degree in Sports Management from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is ABD in Sports Management and Leisure Studies
at Temple University. He is a United States Soccer Federation “A” licensed coach and an NIRSA Certified Recreational Sports Specialist.
Andy was a star soccer player at East Stroudsburg University and was an assistant coach under Anson Dorrance with the
University of North Carolina’s Women’s Soccer Team in 1986 and 1987.
Joan Feeney
Joan has been coaching youth soccer for over 20 years. She is the
head coach for the FC Delco Crunch Juniors Under 12 boys team. Before that, she was the head coach for the FC
Delco Crunch for ten years
In 2006, the Crunch were Under 18 Region One Champions
and National semifinalists. The Crunch were State Champions from Under 12 through Under 18.
They were also Region One semifinalists in 2003
and 2004. Joan was also the head coach for the Philadelphia Sting girls team.
The Sting won an amazing ten consecutive State Champions while she was the head coach.
She has also been a head coach at the High School Varsity level.
In 1995, Joan won the EPYSA Coach of the Year Award as well as the USYSA Region One Coach Of
The Year Award. In 1996, Joan won the Philadelphia Oldtimers Coach Of The Year Award and
the United Junior Soccer League's Service To Youth Award.
Nick Dodds
Nick is in charge of travel team tournaments and also is co-director of the Hatboro facility. Nick was a standout
soccer player at both West Chester East High School and The Haverford School where he was elected captain as a senior.
Nick holds the all time indoor scoring record at Rocket Sports, having scored 100 goals in the first session of Rocket
in the 2006 / 2007 winter season. Nick accomplished this in only 38 games and estimates that about 72 of them would
have been disallowed had the offside rule been in effect. Nick is also known as "The Big Dog" and "Bulldog" for his
ability to wrestle in the office.
Josh Tagland
Josh oversees the House League referee staff and assists in a wide variety of office management work.
He is usually found in the Rocket Sports office discussing ways to make the various Rocket Sports soccer programs
run in the most optimal manner possible. Josh ensures that the House League referees keep games running on time and also
ensures that the referees help educate the younger players in terms of soccer rules, conduct,
sportsmanship and maintaining the proper competitive level. As a youngster, Josh played for many high level
soccer clubs, including the FC Delco program. He is an outstanding athlete. Josh also awarded himself the 2007 Rocket
Sports Employee Of The Year Award.
Nate Arronson - Director Of Snack Bar And Nutrition
Nate brings to Rocket over 13 years of food and beverage expertise. Nate's responsibilities at Rocket include
selecting the optimal food and beverage products to satisfy a wide range of customers. Nate has been involved
in the food industry for 13 years. His knowledge and expertise in this field has enabled Rocket Sports to
maintain one of the finest snack bars in Southeastern Pennsylvania.
